Finding Members, Services, Orgs & Attractions

How Do I Find Other Members, Places & Services on Budiz?

There are 4 ways to do this:
1) In the search box, hover over 'see all', then click 'Members'.
2) Under 'Contacts', click; 'ALL PEOPLE, ORGS, SERVICES & PLACES'.
3) Type in a person's name into the search box, then click on the name.
4) Open any Channel and click 'Fans' to see members interested in that channel.

My Profile

How can I update my profile?

To update your profile, you must visit the Edit Profile page. You can move through the different parts of your profile by clicking the tabs at the top of the page.

Can I see who viewed my Profile?

If your account level allows it, you can do this with your profile settings.

Channels (social networks)

There are 1000's of Interest Channels - How Do I Find Them?

Either:
1) Type your interest or hobby into the search box - then CLICK (don't hit Enter or Return) the Channel link.
2) Under 'see all' in the search box, click 'Channels'.

How Do I Join Channels?

Just open the Channel, then click 'Join Network' (under the channel image on the top left).

I am a Channel Editor - how do I manage it?

Officers can only manage Channels by going to: 'MyStuff' then selecting 'Channels', then finding the relevant channel. Here you will see an 'Edit' link on any Channels you are an Officer of. NOTE: You cannot edit/manage Channels by viewing the channel itself unless you created the channel (ie you are Channel leader/owner).

Someone is Posting Offensive Stuff in This Channel

If you are a Channel Officer, remove this user from the Channel (instructions for moderating Channels is on this Help page).

Chat & Instant Messenger

How Do I Chat?

The Chat can be found under 'see all' (search box) or goto; MyStuff > Chat. NOTE: only Premium Members are able to Chat and use our Instant Messenger service (as it uses a tonne of bandwith/resources) - however this is free forever for those people that join before we implement this. As budiz has just opened, we suggest a chat time to: 7.30pm to ensure as many people are there as possible - but feel free to use it anytime.

How Do I Use the Instant Messenger?

This is at the bottom right hand side of your screen (pls use Firefox or Chrome to use this). NOTE: you can only IM people who are your Contacts (friends) - also IM is only for Premium Members (as it is very intensive on our servers) - however anyone that joins before we implement this can use it free forever.

Forums and Q&As

How do I Ask a Question on a particular subject?

Easy - just type your subject into the search box (eg. computers), join the relevant channel - then click the 'Forum/Q&A' tab (at the top of all channels) to ask your question in that special interest channel.

How do I Answer a Question on a particular subject?

Easy - just find your area of expertise by searching for your interest in the search box. Then join that channel and click 'Forum/Q&A' to see all the questions and topics that have been posted on that subject. If you want to be alerted of new Q&As in any topic - click 'Follow' in the channel (under the main channel image) and these will appear when you next login on the homepage.

Blog/Articles

How Do I Add Videos To My Articles?

YouTubeGoto 'Share' to reveal the various methods to share videos. To embed a video into an article or blog, type click 'embed' to get code on youtube and use the vid url and dimensions in there. You can also type in format: http://www.youtube.com/v/f5WMFcMf5dg

How Do I Add Articles to my Blog?

Simply goto 'MyStuff' (everything to do with you is under this tab) > Articles. Once you create an article - it will show up on your blog which you can see from viewing your profile.

Magazines

How Do I Become a Budiz Magazine Editor on my Special Interest?

There are 1000's magazine topics on Budiz. If you want to manage any Channel and write features and new articles for its magazine, just call or contact us.

Can I get Paid To Write Articles?

We may be prepared to pay for some good content so call us to chat about it.

Your Account

I can't login, or I forgot my username or password.

If you can't login, check to make sure that your "caps lock" key is off. Your username and password are CaSe SeNsItIvE. If you still cannot login, you can request to reset your password or contact us.

How can I update my email address?

You can update your email address on the My Account page.

How can I delete my account?

If you are aboslutely sure that you want to delete your account, you can do so here. NOTE: your info and account will be permanently deleted and irrecoverable!

Privacy

Is my information kept private?

Yes. We do not share any personally identifying information about you to any third party. Non members cannot see your profile.

How can I edit my privacy options?

Do this by visiting your Account Privacy page.

How can I block users from contacting me?

Block people by adding their username to your blocked users list. Visit the Account Settings page to learn more about how to block people.

Problems & Misuse

How can I report an error or problem with the site?

To report an error or problem with the site, you can contact us here.

How can I deal with someone that is bothering me?

If someone is bothering or harassing you, blocking them is usually the best solution. Visit the Account Settings page to learn how to block people. If someone continues to harass you despite your efforts, you can report them here.

How can I report spam or other inappropriate content?

You can report spam, pornography, or any other inappropriate content here, or by clicking the "Report" link on the page containing the content you wish to report.
